W artykule podjęto rozważania na temat aktualności krytycznych uwag wobec społeczeństwa zawartych w powieści Hermanna Hessego Gra szklanych paciorków, a przede wszystkim w odniesieniu do potrzeby odbudowy kultury poprzez (samo)rozwój człowieka. Autorka udowadnia, że losy głównego bohatera powieści, Józefa Knechta, znoszą prymat rozumu nad emocjami i manifestują jedność obu właściwości rodzaju ludzkiego.
(PL)Der Beitrag reflektiert die Aktualität der gesellschaftskritischen Äußerungen in Hermann Hesses Roman Das Glasperlenspiel, vor allem in Bezug auf die Notwendigkeit des Wiederaufbaus der Kultur durch (Selbst-)Entwicklung der Menschen. Es wird nachgewiesen, dass das Schicksal der Hauptfigur des Romans, Joseph Knecht, den Vorrang der Vernunft vor den Emotionen aufhebt und die Einheit beider Eigenschaften der menschlichen Rasse manifestiert.
(DE)The article reflects on the topicality of critical remarks towards society contained in Hermann Hesse's novel The Glass Bead Game, and above all in relation to the need to rebuild culture through human (self-)development. It is proved that the fate of the novel's main character, Joseph Knecht, abolishes the primacy of reason over emotion and manifests the unity of both properties of the human race.
